Lynx: Constellation Archives

LYNX• now part of the astro-knot.co collection. ⭐️

In the early 1600s the stars that make up this pattern have their roots in a now obsolete constellation known as “Jordanus Fluvius” (the Jordan River). Later, in 1697 was when Johannes Hevelius categorized them as the Lynx due to its faint pattern being a challenge to identify. It was also occasionally linked as Tigris (a Tiger). 🌌 Bordered to its west you will find Auriga, Leo in the East with Ursa Major marking the northeast direction. 🌇
